I loved the music from Princess Prom so much that I wanted to recreate it, but I'm a guitarist so I covered it replacing all the synth parts with guitars. I tried to get different guitar sounds that captured the spirit of the original parts. SPOP fandom I'd really appreciate your reblogs on this because I do not have a lot of followers.

If people are interested I could talk a bit about how I did it. It was an interesting arrangement challenge. I could probably tweak it a bit more but I'm just excited to share it.

She-Ra Score Appreciation

This is so beautiful. Sunna Wehrmeijer is so amazing, as a companion piece to the video essay is a Q&A with Sunna:

I’m about as addicted to Sunna Wehrmeijer’s score to SPOP as it is possible to get; I’ve loved her music since the first season of the show.

But it’s the “Promise” track that just wrecks me: so many of the penultimate Catradora scenes in Season 5 are keyed to portions or variations of this music (particularly around 0:58, and then again (more emphatically) at 3:55) .  Every time I play it back, I start to choke up; all those beautiful/tragic/emotionally devastating moments pull me right back in.  This album is unabashedly thrilling.

I bought the soundtrack; hope that a significant amount gets back to Wehrmeijer for her brilliant work. It’s a pretty inadequate thank-you to her for the the pleasure her music has brought me. 

And if anyone at Dreamworks is reading this: a Volume 2 collection would get a rapid and rabid “Shut Up and Take My Money!” response from me.  (Particularly if it included some of the swashbuckling fight music from S1E5, “Sea Gate”.) do you listen to She-Ra OST on loop while reciting corresponding lines from the show or are you normal

Mostly I just wanted to shine a spotlight on this show's soundtrack. There was recently an OST release, but even so a lot of amazing score from the show hasn't been released. I'm of the firm opinion that the soundtrack for this show needs (at least) a Volume 2.

Among the unreleased tracks there are also a handful of puzzling instances where an episode is represented on the OST, but some great cues from the episode weren't included in that episode's track. As far as I'm aware the OST was a digital-only release so I wouldn't have expected it to suffer from the kind of time limit issues presented by CD's and vinyl.

At any rate, I've spent some time compiling my favorite unreleased material in the hopes that it might drum up some attention, show appreciation to this show's score, and maybe lead to a future release of these tracks.

I confined myself to 10 second sample clips for this video for two reasons. 1) The video would've been over 4 hours long if I hadn't. 2) I'm trying to avoid the video being blocked for copyright reasons.

If for some reason you want to listen to my quick-and-dirty edits of these tracks, which remove the dialogue from the show's 5.1 channel audio files and mix what's left down to stereo, then you can check the following link: LINK (Hopefully this doesn't upset the copyright ninjas.
